With the Land Sale behind us the focus has shifted to Illuvitars. These in game avatars will be going on sale before we know it. The way I see it there are a few different strategies you can take to acquire Illuvitars from the coveted first series.

A roll of the dice
If your the gambling type then minting Illuvitars and hoping for a great pull would be one way to go. In this scenario, you would be able to purchase with sILV2, which has been hovering around $40-$50 for the last week or so. We are at an in between point in the project coupled with a bear market and team ILV staking soon to unlock. This has created a deflated token that is in a prime position to be scooped up before the Illuvitar sale begins. As always, you can buy with ether as well.

The patient purchase
Another strategy is to load up your ether on Immutable X and purchase Illuvitars on the secondary market. This path gives you the benefit of seeing exactly what your options are and being able to really shop around. If your looking for a rarer Illuvitar then it’s likely you would catch a premium on the secondary. However, if your sniping skills are on point, there’s always opportunities.

The Illuvitar sale
While we don’t know all the details yet, we do know this first sale will be a limited run. I think it will be a 3 day sale just like the Land Sale. This will drive demand for that first run of Illuvitars and create scarcity once the sale is over. It’s a perfect mix in my opinion.
The million dollar question is how valuable will these in game avatars be over time? In the years ahead will they become as coveted as 1st edition Charizard cards selling for tens of thousands of dollars? That’s the dream, but it’s impossible to say at this point. As Andrew Wall, Illuvium’s head of marketing, has so eloquently put it in past interviews, “Illuvium is primordial goo early.” There is a lot that has yet to unfold, but if Grant’s leaks and the recent Overworld video are any indication of what is to come, then I’m here for it.
