Illuvium Showcase Leaks in High Resolution

We started of 2023 with an awesome first Illuvium Showcase. We saw many aspects of the Overworld that are being updated and Grant was able to provide a lot of insight into what is coming next for Illuvium. Making the Illuvials

To kick this off let’s go through all the Illuvials we saw in this episode. There are a ton of new Illuvials being worked on and the attention to detail looks maddening. This is what it takes when your pursuit is of perfection. Enjoy!

Building Out the Environments

Another big focus this week was the environments. We saw some beautiful images from Abyssal Basin, Taiga Boreal and much more. The attention to detail here is obvious. This team is taking the Illuvium Overworld to the next level.

Altering the Terrain

Now this next part is very interesting. The Illuvium team noticed that their terrain was repetitive and in an effort to solve that issue they have a reworked how the terrain of a region flows. Take a look at this portion of landscape before the change:

If you look closely you can see a pattern of repitition in this grass. Now take a look at the landscape after the change has been made:

The repitition is gone! These subtle details will enhance the gaming experience of Illuvium and points out the level of detail this team is after. We also have some images showing the back end work that went into this type of change.

Overworld Upgrades

We have some really cool Overworld upgrades to show as well. In this episode of the Illuvium Showcase we saw mineral deposits upgraded, bioluminescence increased and much more. Here is a video of Grant Warwick explaining the upgrades to mineral deposit animation:
