In the most recent leak video with Andrew and Grant we got a great look at Sanctum Mesa. This will be home base for Arlen. It’s similar to Pallet Town for any Pokémon fans out there. The design of Sanctum Mesa is really coming along and I am very happy and excited with the results. Let’s take a look. 

The Obelisk

The Sanctum Mesa Obelisk is beautiful. Located on the tip of the island this Obelisk will shoot up out of the ground as you approach it. We saw this in action in the first Overworld leak video. These Obelisks play an integral part in the game as a whole. They are the transfer points between regions. 

The Leviathan Ship

Sanctum Mesa is also home to the main Leviathan Arena. Every region will have an arena like this, but Sanctum Mesa will be home base in the fight for ETH. 

In this case the arena comes in the form of a ship. The main premise of the game is that space explorers crash landed on this strange planet and have began to traverse the world. Sanctum Mesa is the explorers base camp and thus contains the ships. 

Base Camp

The second ship found on Sanctum Mesa is basically base camp. This ship is where items can be bought and stored, Illuvials can be fused together to evolve and weapons can be forged. This is an important base in the game and somewhere you can feel safe before venturing out into the 7 treacherous regions of Illuvium. 

This ship and every ship for that matter will be customizable as you unlock different skins. Here are some examples of the different color-ways:

Inside this ship you will find the Survival Arena. This is where Survival mode can be played. A mode private beta 1 participants are already familiar with and a mode that will be expanded in private beta 2. 

The Beauty

I wanted to focus this article on the beauty of Sanctum Mesa. 

The team has made amazing progress and we are so close to playing this live. 

Grant has stated in discord that Sanctum Mesa and Crimson Waste will be ready for private beta 2. Once that arrives the Twitch and YouTube streams will begin and Illuvium will start to grow organically throughout the gaming community. When this portion of the map debuts I am confident that the gamers who choose to play will be blown away. Every detail matters and in this new Web 3 space the stakes are higher than ever. We all are literally invested in the future of Illuvium and I for one could not be more confident in this team.
