We are getting close. The date of the Illuvitar sale hasn’t officially been announced yet, but there have been enough leaks on Twitter and Discord to determine we are close! As such, I’m going to break down what will be needed to be ready for the sale. 

Metamask

First things first, we need to make sure you have a Metamask wallet downloaded! This will be the crypto wallet you can use purchase either ETH or sILV2. This can be downloaded directly from Metamask.io.

Once you have your wallet ready you need to choose how you would like to fund it. The typical route is to buy some ETH with funds from your bank and then convert that crypto into sILV2 through a service like sushiswap or uniswap. You can choose to leave your funds in ETH to purchase your Illuvitar D1sks, but converting to sILV2 will give you roughly 3x the buying power. At current rates sILV2 can be bought for around $33 and will be pegged to the ILV price during the sale, which is around $100 currently. 

Immutable X

Once you have the funds needed you’ll have to move them over to Immutable X. This is a Layer 2 solution on the Ethereum blockchain that will allow each transaction to have zero gas fees. This is ideal for gaming companies like Illuvium who plan to have millions of transactions. For something of this scale it is essential to have no fees. In order to do so create an account on Immutable and select the deposit option. Follow the steps from there to get the process completed. It’s also best practice to bookmark any sites for future use. The last thing you want is to click on a malicious link on the day of the sale. The entirety of the Illuvitar Sale will occur on Immutable X Layer 2. 

Strategy

Now that everything is setup what will the strategy be going into the sale? Do you buy a bunch of Mega D1sks in search for rare Illuvitars? Do you buy Basic D1sks to help fill up your album? Inevitably there will be a bit of both. I think this sale is going to be every bit as successful as the Land Sale. These are essentially the first edition Pokémon cards of Illuvium. We are in the right place at the right time to buy. It’s an incredible opportunity to be early in a project and space as a whole and I truly believe this is the future of collecting as we know it. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
